Tiny pots for everyone
Everyone needs tiny pots. A pinch of salt from the bowl by the stove. A bit of fruit, a bit of almonds nestled in the middle of a cheeseboard set out for company, or just because.
“I started making tiny nesting bowls because I would find myself at the counter prepping for dinner, cutting scallions, hot peppers, and reaching for little dishes to put them in. I designed them with pour spouts so they work for liquids as well. When you’re cooking food in a wok, it goes quickly and everything needs to be close at hand and ready for action.”
As we transition from the hot meals of winter to the heat of the summer, these pots are naturally ushered into a new use on our cheeseboards, corralling pickles, mustard, olives, nuts, creating their own little eddies between the meandering rivers of cheese and sliced baguette.
“I really favor these custom cheeseboards, made with some of my favorite types of wood sourced from a local mill in central Virginia. Birdseye maple, walnut, and cherry provide a great backdrop for anything. When we’re too hot to cook, or enjoying being outside in the garden too much to come to the table, we make a big salad and assemble some cheese and call it farm dinner.”
